Welcome to the ONBOARD project!

ONBOARD – Development of technical profiles and training curriculum for the ports and logistics’ sector, is a two years’ project co-funded under Erasmus+ programme, Key-action 3 VET-Business Partnerships on Apprenticeships/Work-based learning. The project aims to design, implement and validate an apprenticeship’s model for ports and logistics sector supporting new VET profiles and curricula, fostering an effective cooperation structure between VET and business of the maritime sector.

Project partners’ origin from three different countries (Portugal, the United Kingdom and Ireland) accounting six entities in total, coordinated by INOVA+. With ONBOAR project, the consortium expects to:

– develop a study on apprenticeships training needs in the ports and logistics area in the three countries;

– design/update two to three functional profiles and joint curricula;

– structure an apprenticeship’s model;

– design and test a training of apprenticeships key-professionals for the ports and logistics sector.

During October 18th and 19th, INOVA+ hosted the project partners at Matosinhos to kick of the project and discuss on the necessary tasks and activities to reach the expected results. Further details will be announced, including how interested apprenticeship providers, training providers and sector SMEs can be engaged into the project activities.
