Starting the training of professionals of the apprenticeships system!

The inception session for the presentation of the Training for key-professionals of the Apprenticeships System of the Onboard project to professionals and organisations of the ports and logistics sector from Portugal, took place on 9th of July at ISCIA in Aveiro.

Following this initial session, in which was introduced the structure and the Unit 1 of the training, Portuguese experts and professionals started with the online training, accessible here. In the next 4 weeks of online training, participants will have access to relevant information about the training and qualification in ports and logistics sector and will be also challenged to share their feedback, perspective and opinion about the products developed and topics relevant for the apprenticeships of the sector. Despite being previewed a duration of 4 weeks, the training will end on the 10th of September.

The training is addressed to trainers, consultants Human Resources managers and other professionals acting in the field of training and qualification of the ports and logistics sector and was designed in the framework of Onboard – Development of technical profiles and training curriculum for the ports and logistics’ sector, co-funded by the programme Erasmus+.

The training aims at:

  1. Introduce the products developed in the context of the project, collecting feedback and information from professionals of the sector;
  2. Reinforce the knowledge about key concept and processes related to the development of competences, training and qualification of young people and adults for the sector of ports and logistics, based in VET-Business cooperation;
  3. Promote critical thinking about the products and key-questions related to the project.

The training is organised in 4 units, combining face-to-face sessions with online training:

  • Unit 1 Introduction to Apprenticeship Training
  • Unit 2 Sectoral Qualification Considerations
  • Unit 3 VET and Business Cooperation Training
  • Unit 4 Assessment: Action Plan


At this moment, the training is taking place in Portugal but will start soon in the United Kingdom and Ireland as well.
